Background[]
The Unknown Hero (and the particular parallel universe heroes known as Devon Aidendale) was a virgin up to journey to Silmaria. Despite all his attempts at flirting with multiple women and girls (as a thiefs his sneaky trip through the harem), and even a romantic kiss & hug with Johari, and potentially copping a feel with Katrina.[1]
Legends say that only virgins can see unicorns. The hero believes this legend, and thus has pretended that he didn't see a unicorn, to hide the fact that he is a virgin.
Virgin may also refer to fine naturally pressed olive oil.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
In Hero-U, another legend says that only virgins can see mermaids/merbabies, etc. Shawn also chooses to act like he can't see it, to hide the fact that he is a virgin.
According to Lori Cole explaining the references she included in QFG5 and Hero-U:
- Yeah, I figured the Hero was a virgin up until game 5 because he was growing up.
- Shawn is in college, so realistically, he didn't want to be a virgin, but your mileage may vary, and his luck depends on who you went out with.
Some fans like to think that Johari and the Hero had sex, and that even a child was left behind. This isn't supported in the games or the strategy guides, but it is a personal favorite fan theory of many. Some believe the fan ga from ke fun of the Hero, instea maybe the son of Hero and Johari, rather than Yesaful and Johari.
Some of the fan games make fun of the Hero, instead suggesting that he might be somewhat of a sexual deviant (and has slept with multiple characters including Hilde Pferdefedern (unofficial), and Rosella (unofficial).
