Transmogrification is curse is a powerful magic spell that transforms the victim forcibly from a human into a non-human form. There may be different varieties of this same general spell.
Ad Avis variation[]
It is a favorite spell of Ad Avis, who casts it with this incantation:
- By the powers of all darkness
- by the power of my name
- shall your soul be mirrored outward
- and your body be the same!
In the case of the spell cast by Ad Avis, the target seems to be transformed into a creature that represents their inner character: however Baba Yaga and the the Kobold use similar spells, but seem to have some control over what the target is transformed into.
