Poseidon was one of the gods of ancient Greece. He is barely remembered in modern Silmaria. He was the father of Triton which the race of the same name got their names. He is still revered by the Tritons. The Statue of Poseidon is important to them.
The Poseidon Adventure references his name (although the story may have nothing to do with Poseidon directly).
