Merv is a Griffin that lives in the west of the Shapeir outlook and needed for one of its Griffin Feather.

In-Game Interactions[]

There are more than one way to get a Griffin Feather from Merv, depending on abilities and skills:

  • A Fighter is supposed to find a feather under a heavy rock, however it requires more than 65 Strength to move rock.
    • Alternatively, or if the Hero has low strength, having typed look rock and noticed the feather, the Hero can dig sand, after which it is possible to move rock.
  • A Magic User is supposed to cast Levitate then take a feather from its nest or pull one from it directly.
  • A Thief is supposed to be climbing then take a feather from its nest or pull one from it directly.
    • If the hero's climbing skill is less than 80, he will try in vain to climb the rocks. If he has more than 80, he will determine by his skill alone that they are unsuitable for climbing, and won't try at all.

Those that pull a feather from it directly lose Paladin Points and Merv will attack the Hero later.

Background[]

He spends most of his time sleeping, and does not like to be rudely awakened, hunting down anyone that he perceives as harming him in some way. If he thinks he is losing combat, he will flee, but return later for revenge.

Merv only speaks Griffin-speak, preventing the Hero from communicating with him.

His feather is important for Harik Attar in order to make a dispel potion.
