Igor

Igor is a hunchback appearing in Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness.

While spending most his time in town outside the Adventurer's Guild, Igor will be at the Cemetery the second time the hero goes there at day, which serves as a hint to his whereabouts upon going missing.

Game interaction[]

Later on, Igor gets trapped in the cemetery, and Davy is captured and blamed for his disappearance. Depending on purely abilities and skills, there are multiple ways of saving both Davy and Igor. If Igor is found before saving Davy, Davy is set free. If the hero doesn't find Igor soon enough he will die in the cemetery and his body found later - the hero will be able to loot his corpse for a crypt key, but it'll be game over if the hero ever see Burgomeister Dmitri Ivanov again. But if the hero finds him before he dies, Igor will be grateful and back in town give the key to the hero.

Saving Igor[]

Depending on purely abilities and skills, Igor can be saved from being accidentally buried alive in multiple ways:

Background[]

He lives in Mordavia Town as the Cemetery's gravedigger. He is dead serious about his responsibility, and chisels headstones and digs graves with a granite-hard determination that is buried under a cheerful demeanor. Igor is at first chilly to the Hero, but repeated conversations and interactions will exhume his good graces.

Igor knows a lot of the town's rumors and secrets, but heard of the saying 'dead men tell no tales' and it struck him with its gravity so he keeps shut up tight to make sure no one realizes how much he knows.

Titles and nicknames[]

  • Iggy
  • Ig

Behind the scenes[]

There are two possible deaths for failing to find Igor in the allotted time:

  1. If Davy isn't rescued, and is burned at the stake, everyone in the village and the hero are killed by the Davy's final curse.
  2. If the hero rescues Davy but is caught by the Burgomeister before finding Igor, then Dmitri will attempt to arrest him, he escapes into the woods only to be converted into a vampire by Ad Avis.[1]
    • However, if the hero in this case avoids ever meeting the Burgomeister again, the game can be completed. The Burgomeister will still greet him at the end game ceremony, which Igor will somehow attend too.
