The Goblin Cave is landmark in Spielburg Valley in Hero's Quest and Quest for Glory I: So You Want to Be a Hero (EGA).
Background[]
It lies beneath the Goblin Rocks. It is where the Goblin government rules, and pays its people.[1]
Humans can't get into the Goblin Cave as apparently the entrance is too small.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
According to Corey Cole: "I don't remember much about our original plans other than exploring a small maze (a few "rooms"), fighting goblins, and ending up confronting the Goblin King in his throne room. It might have felt something like the goblin warrens in The Hobbit - the book, of course, as the films weren't yet out in 1989."[3]
Typing search will tell you if you are frigid, cold, warm or HOT, leading you behind the rocks. Searching there, will tell you that you discover a Goblin cave that is too small to enter. It was originally supposed to be a fully explorable underground Goblin Maze, but was cut due to both limits of space and development time.[4] Indeed, if you attempt to open it (type smash cave), the narration will state "Maybe next game. We're behind schedule."
