Gaza is a city in Egypt, the land of the Pharaoh in North Fricana.
Background[]
The bazaar of Gaza sells many things. Rasha Rakeesh SahTarna once visited the bazaar, where the merchants assumed he was a monster. A Paladin came to his defense. He told her of his mission to stop the Demons that had invaded North Fricana, and she taught him the way of the Paladin.[1]
Visitors to Gaza must take care that locals do not cheat them.
Behind the scenes[]
Gaza actually is a city of Palestine (ancient Canaan) between Egypt and Israel. The game likely meant Giza which is home of Great Sphinx and Great Pyramid in Egypt. They are two separate places a little over 200 miles apart.
The Khan el-Khalili, aka Giza Bazaar is a famous tourist attraction in Giza, hence likely the reference to the bazaar in the game.
Gaza (not to be confused with Giza) was originally a Canaanite settlement, it came under the control of the ancient Egyptians for roughly 350 years before being conquered and becoming one of the Philistines' principal cities. Gaza became part of the Assyrian Empire around 730 BC. Alexander the Great besieged and captured the city in 332 BC. Most of the inhabitants were killed during the assault, and the city, which became a center for Hellenistic learning and philosophy, was resettled by nearby Bedouins. The area changed hands regularly between two Greek successor-kingdoms, the Seleucids of Syria and the Ptolemies of Egypt, until it was besieged and taken by the Hasmoneans in 96 BC.
